- Does Olympia have employee participation requirements?
Unlike other dental carriers that require 60% to 80% of eligible employees to participate in the group's Dental Plan, Olympia does not in its EPO Dental Plans. In its PPO Dental Plans, minimum participation is required. Olympia will not decline a group EPO application due to the level of employee participation. The only EPO group size requirement is that the group must have a minimum of two members. Olympia's EPO premiums are not increased due to low participation. Back to Top
- Olympia's premiums are more than competitively priced; they are significantly lower than rates offered by other Dental carriers. Why?
Olympia's competitive pricing is the result of several factors. As a local company focused on Illinois EPO groups, we do not have the high business overhead that national dental carriers possess. Our talented and efficient staff help are knowledgeable and efficient, enabling us to pass savings on to our clients in the form of competitive Dental premium. For Olympia's PPO Dental Plans, which are available in most states in the continental United States, a similar business model has been used in order to support competitive premiums. Back to Top
- How does your Dental Network differ from those of other carriers?
Olympia has a strong “partnership” with its Dentists. This means that our Dental Network works with us to provide superior dental benefits to our clients. While other carriers may have more Dentists participating in their network, a question to ask is “What percentage of the Dental practices is actually available to new patients?” More than 90% of Olympia's Network is currently accepting new patients. Other carriers, meanwhile, consistently have 10% to 35% of their Networks closed to new patients. Back to Top
- Will Olympia provide group Dental coverage in combination with coverage from other carriers?
Olympia is very flexible in putting together Dental Plans. Unlike most carriers, Olympia will offer Dental coverage in conjunction with Dental benefits from other carriers. We do not require full “takeover” of the group in order to offer our plans. Back to Top
- Does Olympia require waiting periods for specific Dental procedures or for new employees?
No, Olympia does not require such waiting periods. Back to Top
- Does Olympia offer a multi-year rate guarantee for groups?
Yes, Olympia EPO Dental plans generally have rate guarantees of 2 or 3 years. However, for groups over 100 employees, we can customize an EPO Dental plan to meet your needs. The group PPO Plans offered by Olympia also have an optional two-year rate guarantee, the price of which can be negotiated when the proposal is negotiated. Back to Top
- Are my children or other dependents covered?
In both the EPO and PPO Dental Plans, dependents identified by name and age are covered from 4 years through 26 years of age as long as they are single. Single dependents over age 26 and under 30 must provide verification of their honorable discharge from the United States Armed Services by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs to remain covered.
